New Air-Con for Wat Sam Ma Kan School delivered and fitted.

Gift of Happiness Foundation delivered the new air-conditioning equipment, more clothes, toys and other goodies for the children at a school still recovering from last years catastrophic floods. 
Seven volunteers from GOHF attended this presentation of essential goods and equipment.  

We were all treated to a great welcome from the head teacher, all sixty two children and the only other teacher at the school. While the new air-con was being installed we were presented with a show by the children and they entertained us very well with some great fun and games that they had been practising before our arrival. After the games we served the children with lunch, ice-cream and candies, then we enjoyed a great meal that was specially prepared by some of the children's parents.

The children, teachers and parents were very happy with our gifts-a-plenty and we all had a great day out when we went to give some more of our brand of happiness to this small school in Ayutthaya.

• Donations of new equipment and fitting was funded by "The British Community in Thailand Foundation for the Needy" (BCTFN).
• Clothing, toys and educational equipment came from GOHF and members of the British Women's Group - Bangkok.
• Ice-cream provided by Mr. Peter Cox, a visiting volunteer from Birmingham, UK -- and Jelly Belly Candies came form the Jelly Belly Candy Company.
• Transport and planning was arranged by Mr. Amarin Nisasoka and GOHF Founder Eddie Haworth with other volunteers providing their own transport and much appreciated practical help.

Project Background: The Wat Sam Ma Kan School near Ayutthaya, Thailand was badly hit by serious flooding in November 2010. As a result of the devastation, they sustained some structural damage and lost most of the school computers, a lot of educational equipment, canteen furniture and cooking equipment.  Gift of Happiness Foundation (GOHF) have visited the school six times since the floods and on each occasion we have given replacement used goods and equipment which has been donated to us by some of Bangkok’s community groups and International schools.  We are now embarked on a project to provide essential computers and related structural and electrical repairs to the computer room at the school.

Project:

• GOHF to provide 12 computers for a purpose-built computer study room at the school as soon as possible…Standard Chartered Bank and Harrow International School have been approached and are both considering their options to help us.
• GOHF to provide two 19,000 BTU Air-conditioning units in the room and have the electrical connections and A/C units fitted by Tuesday 5th July 2011.  The British Community in Thailand Foundation for the Needy (BCTFN) have already provided enough money to fund these requirements.
• GOHF to provide good quality insulation to the room for safety and comfort of the children and new computers.   Saint-Gobain, the world leader in habitat and construction materials has agreed to have the work done before the end of July 2011.
• GOHF to provide all project accounts, details of financial and material donations and reports on this project. SAS Siam All Services Co., Ltd.Accountants and legal advisor's have agreed to donate their services to provide all these services.
• IT Services for this project and many other GOHF IT related matters are kindly donated again by the director of Select IT, Computer Solutions & Support in Bangkok - Bangkok's Google Apps Implementation Services.
• GOHF and Mr. Amarin Nisasoka to provide all transport and associated costs for and estimated 12 visits to the school from November 2010 until completion of the project. Please donate to help.
