Venue: Association for the Promotion of the Status of Women, Bangkok (APSW)
Information: The emergency home provides assistance to women and children who are victims of forced prostitution, rape, HIV/AIDS, abandonment and physical and emotional abuse. The emergency home also provides education, vocational and life skills training and hotline counselling services.
Number of women and children: 28 children and 70 women.

But just imagine the childrens delight when they received this giant teddy bear and the women who received so much kindness from the South African Embassy and Go Happiness on this special International Nelson Mandela Day, 2016!
15 volunteers comprising South African Embassy Diplomatic personnel, members of the South African Embassy staff, members of the South African Chamber of Commerce and Go Happy Director Eddie Haworth were all Welcomed by Mrs. Sudawan Khomtharm, Executive Director of the Emergency Home, located in a suburb of Bangkok.
11 am;
Following speeches by the South African Charge D’affaires, Mrs. Sudawan Khomtharm and Eddie Haworth. Activities commenced with participants being split into 2 groups: First group helped Emergency Home by dishing-out lunch for all the kids and women. There were two slots to help serve lunch for the children and again a little later for the women. Second group were allocated to work as painters and decorators for approximately 67 minutes at the baby home within the APSW compound. |
Eddie still managed to load-up his trusty old truck and bring it along packed-full of goodies for the woman, children and babies.
Thanks also go to Monroe Consulting group for providing new uniforms for the children and a large donation of pasta from The Commercial Company of Siam Ltd (Eurofood)..."Yet another great gift to the needy!"
