Opening New School Library Go-Happiness gave another truck load of books, handicraft making equipment, candies and a big show for the whole community who were there for the grand opening of the new library. The school is situated in Mae La village in the Nakorn Luang district, North of Ayutthaya and sits on the banks of the Pa Sak River, Thailand. The area is prone to flooding during the rainy season, so the design and construction of this new Library is geared to preventing any further destruction of books and materials when the floods come during most monsoon seasons. | The library has been built by the children themselves, with a little help and training from local builders, their headteacher and his dedicated small team of staff and volunteers. |
Donations of books & other materials came from International schoolchildren, Rotary Club BKK, South and many individuals who were happy to help these children.
Here's just part of the support we have given the children at this school;
20 new computers, new efficient air conditioning in the computer room, tons of clothing, new uniforms, educational equipment, musical instruments, toys and flood relief aid.We even gave the children and families a 'Great Amazing Day-Out' to the Zoo in Bangkok, followed by a visit to a Bilingual School where the kids were treated to a well presented production of 'Peter Pan' at 'Amnuay Silpa Bilingual School' Theatre.
