'A Great Big Thank You' - BAMBI - St. Georges Society - BWG - Wanneroo Rotary
This week...
BAMBI (Bangkok Mothers and Babies Group) gave us a large donation of good quality used mothers & baby goods. They have also pledged a cash donation to help us cover our costs incurred on recent projects to help young children and mothers.
A member of BWG (the British Women's Group) in Bangkok gave more great clothing and two other BWG members spent a whole day in our sorting rooms making sure we give the right things to the right people. Some of those goods have already been handed out to poor families in the slums of Bangkok. The rest is earmarked for more big hand-outs in the same slum area...then migrant schools and refugee camps in Northern Thailand.
St Georges Society, Bangkok presented us with a great donation of money 55,000THB (1,735 USD) for project maintenance costs at Gift of Happiness Foundation. We very much appreciate this fantastic donation which brings us close to the required amount of working capital that Thai registered charities must maintain. The money was raised through raffle ticket sales and an auction by members & guests during the St. Georges Society annual 'Gala Dinner and Ball', held in April 2012.
Members of Wanneroo Rotary Club in Perth W. Australia are pledging their support of Gift of Happiness Foundation and the Baan Song Rong School, Laem Yai, Samut Songkhram, Thailand. They are buying a years supply of rice for the school and we hope to receive extra donations for the purchase of high protein foods for these very poor children.
