"Covid-19 Is Not Stopping Us From Helping the Needy!"
But We
CANNOT ACCEPT ANY MORE GOODS
Until things get back to normal?
But all is not entirely lost! We are doing our best to provide (via curriers) essential toiletries and food aid to some people who have absolutely no chance to fend for themselves during this time of devastating crisis.
But just like all the businesses that are suffering from a lack of income right now, the charity is also feeling the financial pinch?
Understandably, there have been a number of our friends who have cancelled their monthly PayPal or Credit card donations and we are getting NO monthly donations coming into the charity bank account.
In October 2019, Eddie started planning to visit his family in the UK for the first time in almost 20 years. So his flights have been booked well in advance of the virus erupting and luckily, his flight was one of the last to leave Thailand before restrictions were imposed.
Now, of course, he's working tirelessly in Scotland until things return to normal and he will fly straight back to Bangkok just as soon as he is allowed to do so!
In the meantime, the amazing staff and volunteers at the Go Happiness Centre in Bangkok will continue to do whatever they can to give hands-on support to as many people in need as possible.
THE HAPPINESS WILL NEVER STOP! There is no easy way to deal with the current situation, but Eddie and the team at Go Happiness are never going to allow the virus to stop them giving whatever they can while the situation is critical and even more so once the restrictions eas-off? That's when the Happiness trucks can once again roll along the long roads that lead to Garbage Dump communities, Migrant and Refugee families, Hill Tribe communities, Safehouses for abused women and children and homes for the disabled! Eddie is finally connected to the internet in Dumfries. So it's Business as usual for the Leader at Go Happiness in Bangkok and now he is working very hard from a small room in Scotland to keep the Happiness Going in Bangkok and throughout Thailand! |
If you have read and understood everything in this post so far, you must at least have been interested enough to learn something about what this little charity has been doing for so many years?
Please stay with us for a few more lines of enlightenment...
I have constantly been amazed at the number of people who say great things about the work that I and my small team are doing and I've even received quite a few accolades and awards in recognition of my passion to serve the needy in Thailand.
It's really great to know that so many people are willing to share so many great words of encouragement and praise for what I have been doing for so many years. I truly appreciate all of those words and medals of recognition. Thank you to all those who's said so many great things.
I have always been equally amazed at the number of people who follow their kind words with promises to give all their unwanted goods to the people we serve. Indeed, the goods have always come-in thick and fast and sometimes we have been quite overwhelmed with the many tons of goods given to us... we couldn't manage without all that kind of fantastic support!
BUT RIGHT NOW! I have decided not to expose our staff or volunteers to possible infection through handling goods or meeting visitors to the Go Happiness Centre...and all the drop-off points in Bangkok are also unable to handle any goods for the duration of the crisis.
There are two staff members who are sending out essentials that have been sourced via online shopping and safely delivered to the Go Happiness Centre. These goods are only being given to a few of the desperate families we serve in the hopes that they will survive the crisis with a small degree of comfort and dignity?
Meanwhile, please do not try to deliver any goods to any of the drop-off points or at the Go Happiness Centre in Bangkok! We already have a container-load and two rooms full of fantastic donations that have come from so many well-meaning people in Bangkok, other parts of Thailand and even from other countries before the crisis started.
As soon as we are allowed to resume our deliveries of those goods to people in need...
WE WILL BE HAPPY TO TAKE ALL THE GOODIES YOU CAN GIVE US!
to consider making small monthly donations to help us kickstart and maintain our deliveries of the many tons of goods we have ready to go
just as soon as we are allowed travel.
essentials to Thailand's most needy people.
(Please consider making it a monthly donation...Thank you!)
