A big 'Thank You' to "Karen" from Samut Prakan, Bangkok, for a great gift of money to pay for the much needed volunteers minivan hire and it's associated costs. With this donation we can now go ahead with all our planned visits to Mae Tao clinic, Umpien refugee camp and some migrant schools in Tak province, North Thailand, starting on 30th January.
Thanks also to Sandy from Bangkok who donated a truck load of top quality goods including two wheelchairs, a walking frame and loads of warm clothing for the refugees and Mae Tao Clinic. We also extend our thanks to all other people who've recently donated goods for us to give to the poor in Mae Sot.
We have our regular British lady volunteers from Bangkok, a Clown & Dancer from Germany, two drivers and a couple of strong Australian gentlemen to haul all the donations. We will also welcome our Burmese friend and guide "Mr. Thant Zin" to help us negotiate the mountain pass up-to Umpien camp. Eddie Haworth (Director GOHF) will provide his own truck to lead the way and we have secured the hire of two more trucks and a minivan to carry around three tons of warm clothing, toys, mosquito nets, wheelchairs, entertainers and volunteers to the region.
Our thanks again to all those individuals already named in recent articles, who've helped us buy 400 mosquito nets, many more useful goods and some transport costs for this project.
Thank You.
