This is 10 years old Ngwe Hlaing. She is one of the last survivors of a horrific school bus crash to be released from hospital. She has lost four toes and had several skin grafts. Her treatment continues every day at the So-o clinic near her school dormitory. We gave her and all the other survivors lots of toys and other goodies on our last trip to Mae Sot and we promised to help in other ways. She's very happy to receive money that we sent to pay for her parents to travel from Bangkok to visit her recently.
This five day trip to Mae Sot will include visits to Mae Tao Clinic, One Dream One World school/shelter for street kids, a burned-out village being re-built, six migrant schools and Mae La Refugee Camp. We will also visit the HIV/AIDS Health Centre for men.
As usual, we will be using the Director’s own truck to transport donations and some volunteers on this trip. We will organise extra vehicles and drivers, by loan or hire depending on how many people commit to attending the mission. We will spend the first couple of hours of day one loading two trucks with donations and show equipment for the Clown Eckie shows. Then we will drive the six/seven hours to Mae Sot where we will spend four nights, returning to Bangkok on Thursday 30th May.
We will provide new school uniforms for 130 children, paid for by Len Penn Music academy and Sankosik family in Bangkok. The uniforms will go to One Dream One World school for street kids and a new school that's just been re-built following a fire that destroyed the old one just outside of Mae Sot.
We will also give agricultural tools donated by Chillington Tools, Thailand to the residents at the Men's Health Center. These tools to be used to help the men grow food crops on the new small-holding that we are renting for them.
Clown Eckie will give his big fat buffoonery shows at most of the locations that we visit and will leave almost 2,000 children with a true gift of happiness that they can keep for ever.
Note to volunteers;
All the people we visit are living in very poor or desperately poor situations and volunteers assisting on this project must be prepared to experience some sights that may be uncomfortable.
Teaching materials such as exercise books, pens, pencils, chalk, A4 (computer paper) for migrant schools in and around Mae Sot, N. Thailand.
There are 1,824 students and 111 teachers at the schools we will visit so we need lots of teaching supplies. We also need toiletries for all the children. Tooth paste, brushes, soap, etc...
We can now receive donations at our new Gift of Happiness Foundation

We are dedicated to helping poor children in Bangkok and throughout Thailand.
Our aim is to help some of the people who are often overlooked by some of the large NGO's and non-registered or non-accountable groups that exist in this country.
If you need any further information about how best to help the children that we regularly serve in Mae Sot and other parts of Thailand. Any Questions?
Thank you.
