Following our visit to Children's Development Centre
David, like many Karen's is a political refugee.
AGAPE Orphanage and Learning Center in Mae Sot, Thailand is situated close to the Thai/Burma border.
More than 300 children are being cared for by the wonderful Director & Founder - Mr. David Min Naing and just a few volunteer staff.
David has been in Mae Sot for the last 8 years. 6 yrs ago he felt a calling to help the refugee children.
AGAPE orphanage and boarding house is a new place for us to visit and we had no knowledge of its size or number of children. We gave them a big fat Clown Show and made an assessment of what they might need from us on our next visits to the region.
We were very impressed with the whole set-up of this fantastic orphanage and it Director who only seems to use the name, David. After the Clown Show...David started the children singing and dancing to half-a-dozen brilliant songs that were all performed with great aplomb! The children had a brilliant afternoon of happiness and fun and we can't wait to go back there in October to give them some very much needed clothing, toys and maybe a couple of computers.
