Happiness is Given Freely to People in Need!

During the Gift of Happiness Foundation's research into who is genuinely in great need of food and other essential aid during the COVID-19 Pandemic, we discovered a group of 140 temporarily unpaid manual workers with families to feed and clothe.

The families live close to Bangkok (Near Samut Sakhon) and normally work at a factory that produces car parts. But since late March 2020, the factory has been closed so the families have not been paid for many weeks.

Happily, the factory has now reopened, and the workers will soon start to receive their regular salaries. But they have been unable to maintain a decent standard of clothing (apart from their working uniforms provided by the factory) and the children have not had any toys to play with until now.

The Gift of Happiness Foundation has already given a large amount of food and hygiene products to every family a living in the basic tin hut accommodation provided by the factory owners.

All this was paid for by the amazing children, parents and teachers at St Andrews 107 International School in Bangkok.

The wonderfully dedicated Go-Happiness staff (and some of their family, as volunteers) returned to the factory-tied community village on the 9th of July to give the people another truckload of essentials and here are a few pictures of the goods being handed directly to the people...

A few facts about funding for the Gift of Happiness Foundation...

• In 2005, our Founder, Mr Eddie Haworth FRSA (Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts) provided more than 500,000-THB ($15,964-USD) as required in legal fees and Government registration fees to set-up the Thai registered charity, Gift of Happiness Foundation.
• Eddie also provided the main 4x4 off-road capable vehicle needed for the charity to bring essential goods to remote parts of Thailand. He still covers repayments and maintenance costs for the latest 4x4 vehicle, purchased in 2018 at a cost of ฿1.2 million-THB ($38,300-USD). The money for all this came and still comes from Eddie Haworth's earnings as a Lecturer in performing arts and as a professional entertainer.
• Eddie is a Volunteer at the Gift of Happiness Foundation and he has never received a salary. He is not allowed access to the Charity Bank Account which is governed by the Gift of Happiness Foundation's, all Thai Citizens Board of Trustees.
• In 2014, our only corporate sponsor, Monroe Consulting Group gave the Gift of Happiness Foundation a brand-new truck and a pledge to provide monthly cash donations to cover the Gift of Happiness Foundation’s core running costs.
• The following core running costs are covered by Monroe Consulting Group and Eddie Haworth's earnings...
• All transport purchase and maintenance costs, administration costs, staff salaries, office/warehouse rent, utilities, insurance, telephones, office stationery, maintenance services, advertising expenses, IT services, Bank charges, Audit, payroll, accountancy fees and Government charity-registration fees.

So it's Thanks to the generous support of Monroe Consulting Group and Eddie Haworth that 100% of the money you give to Gift of Happiness Foundation does go directly to the Foundation's projects and not to executive salaries, overheads or administrative costs.
