Her mother is a factory worker earning just about enough to cover the costs of rent and food for the family. Nongham is cared for by her cousin who visits her 3 times a day to feed and change her diapers etc. This kind of minimal support is not enough for Nongham to gain enough strength to sit upright or even turn from side to side on the hard wooden floor she lives on 24/7.
In May 2019 Nongham had a full medical check-up at the Camillian Hospital in Bangkok and she was offered a place as a daycare outpatient in a local home for handicapped children. Unfortunately, the home later decided they were unable to take Nongham due to staff shortages and lack of daily transportation.

Eddie Haworth is now trying to encourage Nongham's young cousin, Miss Rudeuratana Totong to develop her existing skills as an artist since she has promised to use part of her earnings to help pay some costs of Nongham's daily needs.
The Gift of Happiness Foundation will soon launch an appeal for ongoing support to help provide Nongham with a dedicated carer who can feed her a nutritious diet and make sure she gets regular physiotherapy to build her strength enough for her to at least sit upright in a wheelchair.
If the Gift of Happiness Foundation can find long term sponsors to pay for a carer's salary, food, liquid nutrition, diapers etc... The Camillian Hospital in Bangkok has agreed to give Nongham a 10 week hospital stay to get her started on a new strength building diet and to give training to her new carer.

We provide vital aid and edutainment giving projects serving an average 2,000 children in need every month, plus many more families who are living in the slums of Bangkok. We cannot achieve this alone. The support of our donors, campaigners and friends is vital, so we want to make sure that we operate an efficient and effective organisation, directing our donor’s money where it is most needed. This is where our 100% pledge comes in.
In 2005, our Founder, Mr Eddie Haworth (AKA Clown Eckie Corporation) provided more than 500,000-THB ($15,964-USD) as required in legal fees and Government registration fees to set-up the Thai registered charity, Gift of Happiness Foundation. Eddie also provided the main 4x4 off-road capable vehicle needed for the charity to bring essential goods to remote parts of Thailand. He still covers repayments and maintenance costs for the latest 4x4 vehicle, purchased in 2018 at a cost of ฿1.2 million-THB ($38,300-USD). Eddie continued to cover all other running costs until Monroe Consulting Group, Bangkok made a 100% pledged to take-over those costs in 2015.
In 2015, our inspirational gold sponsor, Monroe Consulting Group gave Gift of Happiness Foundation the gift of a brand-new truck and a pledge to provide monthly cash donations to cover the Gift of Happiness Foundation’s core running costs; including administration, fundraising and office costs.
Thanks to the generous support of Monroe Consulting Group, 100% of the money you give to Gift of Happiness Foundation will go directly to Gift of Happiness Foundation projects and not to overhead or administrative costs.
