On the 25th of February 2026, The Gift of Happiness Foundation’s small but determined team has once again shown how far compassion, community spirit, and a single truckload of essentials can reach. This month, our volunteers travelled from Bangkok to the rural village of Ban Mai in Khonkaen Province, deep in North East Thailand, where an entire community welcomed us with open arms, bright smiles, and an infectious sense of hope.

What we delivered was simple: clothing, toys, household essentials, and practical support. What we received in return was immeasurable: the kind of joy that lights up a village, the laughter of children who rarely receive gifts of any kind, and the gratitude of families who know they have not been forgotten.

Bon Kai Community Preschool Development Centre Distribution on 25 December 2025
The Bon Kai Community Early Years Development Centre, established in 1983, has been serving the local community for over 42 years in the Lumphini, Pathum Wan, Bangkok district.
The Centre currently provides care for 21 young children aged between 1.6 and 4 years, supported by a team of three teachers. The Head of Centre, Ms Prangwilai Chularassathien (Kru Maew), has devoted over 20 years to nurturing and supporting the children in her care. All children attending come from the surrounding community and represent various nationalities, including Thai, Cambodian, and Myanmar.
The aim of Bon Kai Community Early Years Development Centre is to provide safe, high‑quality early years care that supports children’s development while enabling parents to work, helping to strengthen families and build a more resilient community.​

It truly reflects the school’s strong sense of social responsibility and genuine care for the wider community. We are delighted to continue our collaboration with SBS International School on the “Supporting Local Community in Lat Krabang” project, providing meaningful support to vulnerable and underserved groups in the area.

A kind-hearted donor in Bangkok recently made the extraordinary decision to donate his motorcycle to our charity, choosing compassion over commerce. After carefully researching our work and verifying our reputation for integrity and transparency, he concluded that the Gift of Happiness Foundation was a worthy recipient of this valuable vehicle. His act of kindness is a testament to the impact we strive to make every day.

This motorcycle is more than just a machine; it’s a symbol of mobility, connection, and community support. We are currently considering the best way to pass on this gift, where it will do the most good. Most likely, it will be placed in a hill tribe community where it can serve as a shared resource for transportation, errands, and emergency needs. Importantly, the vehicle will remain registered under the name of the Gift of Happiness Foundation to ensure it cannot be sold or misused, preserving its purpose as a tool for communal benefit.

From the Slums of Bangkok to the Heart of Our Charity
We’ve welcomed a remarkable young woman to the Gift of Happiness team: Miew, our newly appointed Project Manager. She brings not only a high standard of university education and fluent English, but also something far more rare, an intimate understanding of the lives of the people we serve.

Born and raised in one of Bangkok’s most impoverished slum communities, Miew was brought up by her single father, who once took her to see a performance by Clown Eckie (also known as Eddie Haworth FRSA), the founder of our charity. That moment planted a seed of joy that’s now blossomed into a full-circle story of resilience and purpose.

Despite being qualified for higher-paid commercial work, Miew has chosen to dedicate her talents to helping others. Her decision is a powerful testament to her character and a real-life “poor girl makes good” story that inspires us all.

In the heart of North East Thailand, the Gift of Happiness Foundation recently brought essential gifts of clothing, toys, and heartfelt support to the villagers of Tham Uthayan Luang Pu Sila Sirichanto Thaini Kalasin (Meuang Kalasin). This wasn’t just a delivery; it was a celebration of compassion, resilience, and shared humanity.

In a touching display of community spirit and generosity, a team of Go-Happiness volunteers, including Founder Eddie Haworth FRSA, Khun Kranchana Peters and our latest team/family member Khun Thanangrag (Miew) Chatdee, visited the Ko Muslim Community Early Childhood Development Centre, bringing smiles, laughter, and a bounty of gifts to the children in their care.

During the visit, the children were treated to an array of delightful gifts, from colourful toys and cuddly dolls to stylish bags and adorable outfits. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and joy as the little ones eagerly explored their new treasures, their faces lighting up with pure happiness.
