Buffoonery and Benevolence for
Needy People in Thailand
The Gift of Happiness Foundation once again delivered its signature blend of compassion and clowning to those who need it most. Led by founder Eddie Haworth FRSA and foundation partner Jan Hansen, the team, joined by dedicated volunteers from Bangkok and one of the charity's regular sponsors, Mr Alex Heimdal Petersen, who donated a large amount of essential goodies for the children, we visited at Wat Mai Si Moen Migrant School, bringing joy, dignity, and crucial supplies to 70 underprivileged children.
A Truckload of Happiness
The visit was nothing short of transformative.
The children received a bounty of gifts, including toys,
clothing, toiletries, educational materials, and
personal hygiene products, each item carefully selected
to meet real needs and spark real smiles.
The Big Fat Buffoonery Show
But the highlight of the day? A riotous, heart-warming performance by Clown Eckie, the alter ego of Eddie Haworth himself. With his trademark blend of slapstick, silliness, and soul, Clown Eckie had the children, teachers, and even a few delighted grannies roaring with laughter and brimming with joy. For many, it was their first experience of live performance, and it left a lasting impression.
Teachers described the event as “life-changing,” noting how rare it is for these children to receive both practical support and emotional uplift. One local elder summed it up best: “It wasn’t just gifts. It was love, laughter, and hope.”
The Gift of Happiness Foundation continues to prove that joy is a powerful tool for healing and empowerment. With every visit, every show, and every gift, the team reaffirms its mission: to bring happiness where it’s needed most.
