Gift of Happiness Foundation

Gift of Happiness Foundation is paying another visit to the Mae Tao Clinic in Mae Sot, on the Thai/Burma border on Monday 02 January 2012. We have lots of essential medical supplies for the clinic and we are also taking a truck-load of warm clothing to some of the refugee camps in the high mountains near Mae Sot.
We have no funding for this project as it's been arranged at the last minute due to an emergency request for help in the town.
Please consider helping us by sending as little as 1,000.THB or similar amounts in your own currency, on-line or by transfer here: http://www.gohappiness.org/donate.html Thank you.

_Christmas came early at our school in Ayutthaya!

__Gift of Happiness Foundation - Wat Sam Ma Kan School - Wednesday 21-12-2011.
A Christmas visit to our school near Ayutthaya, which has been badly hit by serious flooding in this years catastrophe.  We gave two more truck loads of donated play-ground equipment, toys, clothing, shoes and brought a little Christmas cheer to our children at the school.  most of these goods were donated by a family who are leaving Bangkok to live in Australia and a wonderful lady from Hong Kong who brought lots of new clothing and other goods to Thailand. -- Thank You to Sally Cross & Family and Erica Koh from Hong Kong
_Just a note about the children at this school;
They are all from very poor families - Don't be fooled by their smart new uniforms, they have been provided by a well known bank in Thailand. Most of the children have very little else to dress-in when they are not at school. Their parents or guardians are surviving on hand-outs from organizations like ours or poverty-line wages in return for long hard days of work in local factories that survived the floods.
__We can only keep helping these people if you help by giving whatever you can afford  http://www.gohappiness.org/donate.html
Thank you.

_Quote from Eddie Haworth - Operations Director Gift of Happiness Foundation...
"This was one of the most rewarding projects we've done this year!"
Thursday 01 Dec - Charity food hand-out at Bang Lan flooded village Thailand.
Gift of Happiness Foundation was given another cash donation from BAMBI Bangkok to be used for food aid for about 200 people in whats left of Bang Lan village near Nakorn Pathom, after many weeks of flooding.
Thanks to our great friends at the Dusit Thani hotel, who helped us by spending all the donation on much needed food and toiletries.  Then packed more than 100 goody bags and loaded our two trucks ready for us to deliver to the village.
"Our journey to the region was hampered by some very deep floods that led to many detours which turned our drive into an epic adventure taking more than four hours (Normally about an hour)".
We are also very happy to thank Police officers from the Yannawa Police District in Bangkok and our regular volunteers & friends from the taxi stand in the same district...They made a fantastic donation via a temporary collection box and a whip-round between friends.  The police delivery trucks eventually made it through the floods to deliver a further two truck loads of goody bags and were greeted by the district Sherrif.
Gift of Happiness Foundation gave all the children some toys and candies...then followed with a great big Clown Eckie show that was very well received by the whole village community.  We unloaded all four trucks and handed-out the parcels to each family. Then after a picknick meal made by the good ladies of the community, we headed back to Bangkok.
"That journey was more of a nighmare...not an adventure!"  -- We ended-up in the dark and in floods as high as the headlights on Eddie's truck...Just got through, but with a wet and smelly truck again!
Next trip will be to Mae Sot when we will deliver much needed mosquito nets and medical supplies to Mae Tao Clinic.  These goods have been stored in our Pathom Thani flood-hit store room at Eddie's place (Eddie Haworth - Ops Director for GOHF) since he was evacuated over seven weeks ago.  We will make that trip as soon as we have some funding to do so and when Eddie has managed to clean-up and replace some of his lost home-ware following the floods.
Help us continue to help those in great need...
